To prevent search engines from finding your pages you must add a NO INDEX tag to your page.

We do this by adding the "Ultimate Noindex Nofollow tool"

In your control panel go to "Plugins" and click the "Add New" link.

In the plugin search box type "Ultimate Noindex Nofollow tool"

Click the "Search Plugins" button.

You will get a list of plugins. Because we searched for the exact name there should be only one plugin in the list.

Click the "Install" link on the right of the list

A window will pop up with details about the plugin. On the top right of that window is a red Install button, click that and follow the prompts that follow.

Once the plugin was successfully installed you can go to the plugin's control panel. You will find that under "Settings" in the left menu bar and under settings you will find "Ultimate Noindex"

On the Ultimate Noindex control page you will see that you have to enter the Page ID of the pages you would like to add the NO INDEX tag to. If you know the Page ID just enter it here and if you want to add more than one page separate it with a comma

Do the same with the NoFollow pages further down the same page. Once you are done just hit the "update options" button at the end of the page.

If you do not know what the page ID is, click on "edit" under the "Pages" tab.

Just hold the mouse pointer over the page name of the page you would like to hide. Now look at the very bottom left of your screen at the URL displayed there. It will end with "post=123" The number after "post=" will be the page ID. That is the number you have to enter at the "Ultimate Noindex Nofollow" plugin's control page.

If you have a page which the search engines already listed I suggest that you rename it since the search engines takes several months to update their information.

Question:
We have been using this email address that we got through XYZ. We want to cancel this XYZ as they are charging us the a lot for the adsl and this email address. The other company said theirs include 5 free email addresses. Will I be able to keep my current email address?

Answer:

NO, you won’t be able to keep your current address because it is a XYZ addres. It is yourbus@XYZ.co.za .

When you get your own domain create yourself an email address on your domain instead. Something like david@yourdomain.co.za . Your domain and the internet service provider are not the same thing. If you have your own email on your own domain you can switch internet service providers without loosing your email address. You will also be promoting your own brand instead of that of another company. If you send somebody an email now, do they see your domain name in the email or your internet service provider’s name?

See, you are promoting their service for them for free instead of your own.

The best thing you as business can do is to get your own domain and setup your own email addresses on your own domain.

To answer your question; Yes you will loose your current email address but if you create your email on your own domain you won’t have this problem in future.

Dean’s FCKEditor for WordPress Plugin

Instead of using the standard WordPress text editor (the thing you use to type the content of the post or page) you can use Dean's FCKE Editor. It gives you more text and styling options than the standard editor.

To install it just go to your plugins tab, press the "add new" link and in the search box enter FCKEditor

Email to Friend Plugin

Word of mouth is most certainly the best way of advertising. By adding this plugin a "Tell a Friend" button will appear at the end of each post. Visitors to your site can use that to tell others about your post.

Sticky Posts

This plugin will make the selected post "Sticky" this means that it will keep it at the top of the list  regardless of its age. This is ideal for special offers or announcements.

To install it just go to your plugins tab, press the "add new" link and in the search box enter WP-Sticky

Adsense

Although not one of the Plugins I show on the DVD, this plugin will automatically display Adsense ads in three places on your pages. It is an easy way to implement Adsense ads on all your posts and pages.

WP-Affiliate

This plugin helps you to hide your affiliate links in your blog. It creates a redirect link which looks better than a normal affiliate link.

To install it just go to your plugins tab, press the "add new" link and in the search box enter WP-Affiliate Plugin

Here are some tips to keep in mind:

The images on a web site need not be very high resolution because most screens are only 72dpi. If the purpose of the image is only to display it on the screen it does not have to be better than 72dpi.

You must keep the file size of the picture as low as possible so that it can load as fast as possible.

The size of a picture on a web site are measured in pixels. You must resize your picture before you can use it on your web site. Most old fassion 15″ screens were only 800×600 pixles big. That gives you an idea of the size. If the details in the picture is important you might use a picture with the longest side of 600pixels (either wide or high). For most general purpose pictures you will go for pictures of 500 pixels on the longest side. Pictures used in line with your text will normally be much smaller.
